Arrive to the amazonian town of Puerto Maldonado. You shall be met at the airport and moved to the BOOKING INCA JUNGLE Maldonado Ecolodge. Following a refreshing drink youll make the 3 4 hour trip up the Tambopata River in to the primary rainforest of the Tambopata National parkNational park with the chance to see local communities and wild animals across the banks of the river. You shall reach the Jungle Lodge in the late afternoon. After refreshments youll embark on a short introduction night head into the amazon jungle to consider a few of the nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Jungle Ecolodge. (L, D)
Youll wake up before dawn and cross Tambopata River to walk to the parrot clay lick on the banks of Gatos creek. Youll watch parrots and parakeets gather and prey on the clay. On the walk you might see animals like monkeys along with other interesting insects and plants. After breakfast it is possible to relax in the stunning surroundings of the lodge, go swim or fishing in a nearby waterfall. After lunch youll make the one hour journey further up the tambopata River to the Bahuaja National Park. This journey is an excellent possibility to see animals and birds of the amazon, for example capybara, jaguar, river caimans and turtles. You will reach the checkpoint site of the rangers of the Bahuaja National Park in the late afternoon and establish camp close on the confluence of the Malinowski and Alto Tambopata river. It is possible to view the amazon sundown and go swimming in the river or try catching a few of the abundant fish. In the night time you will try to see animals visiting the mammals clay lick to consume clay and the animals that hunt them like jaguar or ocelots. Night at the camp site . We shall benefit from the diverse sounds of the amazon that may accompany our first night in Amazonia (B, L, D)
Youll wake at dawn to hear the sound of Howler Monkeys and a huge selection of parakeets wheeling through the red morning sky. We shall have a short journey by boat around the Alto Tambopata River after aprox. 25 minutes youll arrive to the place of the Chuncho Clay Lick. Youll watch several species of macaws and several species of parrots and parakeets gather to consume clay in the initial few hours after sunrise. You will have a quick breakfast on the beach accompanied by a brief walk through the forest to find birds and animals. Youll travel back off the river to the camp site for a late breakfast. Ethno botanical trekking to know about medicinal plants. Go back to Lodge for lunch and relax. In the afternoon guided trekking through among the trails or if you like it is possible to relax, go fishing, swimming or visit a neighborhood. After an dinner you will venture out to the river by boat to obtain a close view of caimans ( alligators). Night at Lodge. (B, L, D)
You may have breakfast and make the trip back off the Tambopata River to Puerto Maldonado. Youll reach Maldonado Ecolodge for lunch. In the afternoon youll Travel Down the Madre de Dios River and from there walk through the forest to the calm and beautiful Sandoval Lake. At the lake your guide will paddle for you personally in a wooden canoe to consider Giant River Otters and birds like Hoatzin and Aningha. Youll walk back through the forest to search for a few of the nocturnal animals of the forest and travel back again to the lodge for your final dinner. Night at Puerto Maldonado Ecolodge. (B, L, D)
