Our Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick program, also known as our three-day Tambopata Clay Lick tour, is specifically created to give you the most of the Tambopata National Reserve in a short amount of time. Tambopata National Park is a great area to see some unique plant and animal species and learn about Amazonian culture.
Pata means “high place,” while Tambo means “building.” The famous Tambopata river is the source of the name Tambopata. Lake Titicaca is its birthplace.
Over 650 different species of birds and almost 1500 different types of butterflies may be found in the vast national park, which spans 274,690 hectares. Tambopata is home to eight different species of macaws.
