Upon arrival at Cusco airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, embark on a captivating city tour of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Explore the city’s historic center, including the impressive Plaza de Armas and the grand Cusco Cathedral. Afterward, visit the nearby archaeological sites such as the colossal fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the enigmatic ceremonial center of Qenqo, the military outpost of Puka Pukara, and the Inca baths of Tambomachay, marveling at the impressive Inca stonework and breathtaking views. Experience the Lost City of the Incas

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the train station for your scenic journey to Aguas Calientes, the charming town nestled at the base of Machu Picchu. From there, you’ll take a bus up to the magnificent citadel of Machu Picchu. Spend the morning exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site with your expert guide, learning about its history, architecture, and mysteries. Afterward, you’ll have some free time to wander and take photos. In the afternoon, descend to Aguas Calientes for your train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
Departure from Cusco

After breakfast at your hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred from your hotel to the Cusco airport for your departure. This concludes your memorable Classic Cusco adventure.
A valid passport is required for all international travelers. Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance, especially during the high season.
The dry season, from May to October, is generally considered the best time to visit Cusco and Machu Picchu due to less rain and clearer skies. However, this is also peak season, so expect more crowds. The shoulder months (April, November) can offer a good balance of weather and fewer tourists, often with lush landscapes.
Cusco is located at a high altitude (approximately 11,150 feet or 3,400 meters). It’s recommended to arrive a day or two early to acclimatize, drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and heavy meals on your first day, and consider consulting your doctor about altitude sickness medication. Our tour is designed to allow for gradual acclimatization with moderate activities.
This tour includes daily breakfast at your hotels. Lunches and dinners are not included, giving you the flexibility to explore local restaurants and experience the diverse Peruvian cuisine at your leisure. Your guide can provide excellent recommendations for dining options in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
We recommend packing layers as temperatures can vary significantly throughout the day. Essential items include comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof jacket or poncho, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, insect repellent, a small backpack for daily excursions, and a camera. Don’t forget your valid passport!
This tour is generally suitable for families and most travelers, as it involves comfortable bus and train travel with moderate walking during site visits. However, some archaeological sites have uneven terrain and stairs.
