01 What is the luggage policy for this trek?
Due to train regulations, passengers are generally limited to one piece of carry-on luggage weighing no more than 5 kg (11 lbs) and with specific dimensions. Your main luggage can be stored safely at your hotel in Cusco, and you’ll only carry a small daypack with essentials for the 2-day trek.
02 Is altitude sickness a concern on this tour?
While the trek’s maximum altitude (Sun Gate at 2720m) is lower than Cusco (3400m), altitude sickness can still be a concern. We highly recommend arriving in Cusco at least 1-2 days prior to your trek to acclimatize. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and consume light meals during your acclimatization period.
03 What is the best time of year to do the Easy Inca Trail?
The dry season, from April to October, is generally considered the best time to visit Machu Picchu and trek the Inca Trail, offering clearer skies and less rain. However, this is also peak season, so expect more crowds. The shoulder months (April, May, September, October) can offer a good balance of weather and fewer tourists.
04 What kind of hotels are typically used in Aguas Calientes?
For this tour, you will be accommodated in a Tourist Class Hotel in Aguas Calientes. These hotels offer comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, hot water, and basic amenities, providing a relaxing stay after your trek. Specific hotel names will be confirmed upon booking.
05 Is previous trekking experience required for the Easy Inca Trail?
While the ‘Easy Inca Trail’ is less strenuous than the classic 4-day trek, it still involves a moderate hike with ascents and descents. A good level of physical fitness is recommended. Regular exercise and some prior hiking experience will make the journey more enjoyable.
