Manu National Park Tour from Cusco 5 Days

Your five-day Manu National Park adventure begins early with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Our private transport will take you on a picturesque six-hour drive. After approximately two and a half hours, we’ll make our first stop at the folkloric town of Paucartambo, situated at 2906 meters (9534 feet) above sea level. This serene town, reminiscent of Spanish colonial Cusco, features a quaint colonial church. Our local expert will guide you through its narrow cobblestone streets, offering a fascinating glimpse into the colonial past, followed by a traditional breakfast. Post-breakfast, we continue to Ajanaco or Tres Cruces, a spectacular viewpoint offering pristine views of the Amazon Basin. From here, our Manu National Park journey continues with an exhilarating 40-minute motorized boat ride upstream on the Madre de Dios River, a major tributary of the Amazon River. Upon arrival at Soga de Oro Lodge, you’ll receive a warm welcome. At noon, gather for your first traditional Amazon meal, prepared by locals using unique jungle ingredients. After lunch, embark on a short hike to explore the untouched areas of Manu National Park. After breakfast at Soga de Oro Lodge, continue your Manu National Park adventure with a short downstream ride aboard a traditional «peke-peke» boat, traveling deeper into the Amazon Rainforest. Along the way, keep watch for colorful birdlife, including Mealy Parrots, Blue-Headed Parrots, and the striking Chestnut-fronted Macaw. Return to the lodge for a delicious lunch featuring authentic jungle cuisine before enjoying a relaxing break surrounded by the sounds of nature. In the afternoon, explore scenic jungle trails near Bambu Lodge, passing native communities and discovering medicinal plants that have been used for generations. After enjoying your final breakfast at Bambu Lodge, begin the journey back from Manu National Park with a relaxing motorboat ride to Atalaya Pier. From there, continue by private vehicle through the spectacular landscapes where the Amazon Rainforest gradually gives way to the towering Andes Mountains. Along the route, make a short stop in the charming town of Paucartambo, offering one last opportunity to appreciate the region’s rich culture and mountain scenery.
