Peru Expresso Tour: Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu & Lake Titicaca (8 Days)

Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to Hotel Carmel or a similar hotel located in the vibrant district of Miraflores. After check-in, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Depending on the arrival time of your international flight, you may also have the opportunity to visit the renowned Gold Museum of Peru (entrance fee not included), home to an impressive collection of pre-Columbian gold artifacts and ancient treasures.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Lima airport for your included domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to Hostal Orquidea Real or similar. Take some time to acclimatize with a few cups of traditional coca tea and ask any questions you may have. In the afternoon, at approximately 1:45 PM, embark on a comprehensive Cusco City Tour. This tour covers the major historical sites of Cusco, including the famous Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the revered Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha). A tourist card providing access to all sites within the Cusco area (including the city’s outskirts) is included. The tour concludes around 6:00 PM.

You will be picked up at 8:45 AM for a full-day excursion into the magnificent Urubamba Valley, also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Your journey includes a visit to the village of Pisac, a picturesque town with a Creole and colonial charm, famous for its indigenous market. Enjoy lunch during the tour. In the afternoon, explore the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo, an architectural complex that served as a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious, and military center during the Tawantinsuyu Empire. Afterward, visit the traditional market of Chinchero. The tour concludes with your return to Cusco for the night.

Depart from your hotel at 5:30 AM for your journey to Machu Picchu. Board the 6:00 AM Vistadome train. Arrive at Aguas Calientes Station at 9:40 AM, then take a 25-minute bus ride up to the stunning ruins of Machu Picchu. Once there, you will enjoy a guided tour with an English-speaking guide, discovering the wonders of this ancient citadel. The return journey is again by bus and Vistadome train. The train departs at 3:30 PM and arrives in Cusco at 7:30 PM.
Optional: For lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, an additional $35.00 USD per person applies.

Transfer to either the train station or bus terminal. Enjoy a ten-hour scenic journey by train or bus to Puno, traversing the beautiful Andes landscapes dotted with small villages and herds of llamas and vicuñas. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Hotel Qelqatani or a similar hotel.

You will be picked up from your hotel at 6:40 AM. After a two-hour boat ride on Lake Titicaca, you will reach the unique floating Uros Islands. These islands are inhabited by fishermen and hunters who use the totora reed (a type of algae that grows in the lake) to construct their islands and homes, ensuring they stay afloat. The dense root systems of these plants support the islands. Though the roofs are waterproof, the houses are naturally humid due to the surrounding water. The inhabitants currently speak Quechua and Aymara. Next, visit Taquile Island, where you will enjoy lunch at the cooperative restaurant. There is also a cooperative store in the plaza selling exceptional and high-quality wool goods. Taquile Island is renowned for its craft production, especially its beautiful textiles. The island is approximately 0.6 miles (1 km) wide and 4.3 miles (7 km) long. The visit may be physically demanding due to the 533 stone steps required to climb to the village and the high altitude of 13,000 feet (3,962 m.a.s.l.). Taquile also features numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and agricultural terraces. Return to Puno in the afternoon for overnight stay at Hotel Qelqatani or similar.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Puno. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport for your included domestic flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Hotel Carmel or similar in Miraflores, Lima, for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight, marking the end of our services.
