This 2-day adventure offers much more than simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Lake Sandoval. You’ll also experience exciting activities such as a zip line and a thrilling canopy walk, allowing you to admire the spectacular Amazon Rainforest from above.

Day 2 Tambopata - Lake Sandoval - Puerto Maldonado

We'll see parakeets and parrots licking the clay.

Lake Sandoval Peru – 2 Days 1

At daybreak, we will visit the spectacular Parakeet and Parrot Clay Lick, where hundreds of colorful birds gather to consume mineral-rich clay. This natural clay helps them metabolize food and neutralize toxins absorbed from fruits and seeds. Our local expert will explain this fascinating natural behavior and the importance of the clay lick within the Amazon Rainforest ecosystem.

After enjoying this unique wildlife experience, we will return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast.

Following breakfast, we will hike approximately 3 kilometers, crossing the Madre de Dios River to reach Lake Sandoval. Here, you will discover the lake’s remarkable biodiversity, with opportunities to observe a wide variety of birds, wildlife, and other native species. We will also continue by boat to explore the lake more closely and maximize your chances of wildlife sightings.

We will enjoy a delicious lunch within the protected reserve zone before returning to the lodge for a short rest.

At approximately 4:00 PM, we will board the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival at the boat pier, our staff will be waiting to transfer you comfortably to the city center and then to the airport or bus terminal, marking the end of your unforgettable Lake Sandoval Peru Tour.
