1
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before being picked up at 8:30 AM for a full-day tour of the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. Explore the picturesque Peruvian countryside, starting with a visit to the charming town of Pisaq, renowned for its lively market. On Sundays, a special attraction is a mass celebrated in Quechua and conducted in Spanish, attended by mayors and their escorts playing traditional ‘pututos’ musical instruments. Afterwards, savor a typical Peruvian lunch (included) before heading to the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo Fortress. These magnificent ancient ruins offer spectacular vantage points overlooking the valley. Originally the royal estate of Emperor Pachakuteq during the Inca Empire, the site later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui during the final Inca rebellion against the Spanish. Frequently Asked Questions
01 What is the best time of year to take this tour?
The dry season, from May to October, is generally considered the best time to visit Peru for trekking, with clearer skies and less rain. However, this also means higher crowds and prices. The shoulder seasons (April, November) can offer a good balance of weather and fewer tourists.
02 What kind of luggage should I bring for the Inca Trail portion?
For the Inca Trail hike on Day 3, you’ll typically carry a daypack with essentials like water, snacks, rain gear, and a camera. Your main luggage will be securely stored at your hotel in Cusco and transported separately, usually waiting for you upon your return.
03 Is travel insurance required for this tour?
While not explicitly required by the operator, travel insurance is highly recommended for this tour. It should cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and potential evacuation, especially given the trekking and altitude involved.
04 Are there vegetarian or other dietary options available for meals?
Yes, most tour operators can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other dietary restrictions if informed in advance. It’s crucial to specify your needs when booking to ensure proper arrangements can be made for all included meals.
05 What is the policy for children participating in this tour?
This tour involves hiking the Easy Inca Trail and can be physically demanding. While younger children might be able to participate, it’s generally recommended for children aged 8 years and older who are accustomed to walking and can handle moderate physical activity. Please consult with the operator regarding age restrictions and suitability for your specific family.
